Standing up for South Gloucestershire

John Kiely and Vince Cable MP

John Kiely PPC

I have just been chosen by the local Liberal Democrats to contest this seat at the next General Election

Having started my local employment down the road in Filton and then working for years at Orange in Bradley Stoke I know this area extremely well.

This is a new Parliamentary seat, a large part of which is currently represented by hard working Steve Webb MP. I will want to follow his excellent example of standing up for our area and fighting for a fairer society. We are the only party addressing the major issues facing the Country. On the credit crunch, where our shadow chancellor Vince Cable MP has led the debate on the looming crisis of global warming and the ever increasing attacks on our civil liberties.

Locally, I have supported residents in Winterbourne fighting the demolition of a much loved local landmark, the Pink Cottage in Watley's End, launched a petition against proposed local bus service cuts and am backing the Northavon Bowls Club who are being treated disgracefully by Conservative run Bradley Stoke Town Council.

It has been a very busy first few weeks, but I am determined to work hard for local residents to protect and improve Filton and Bradley Stoke Constituency.
