Standing up for South Gloucestershire

By Election - Filton

9.09.00pm GMT Thu 4th Sep 2008

A parish council by-election has been called in Charborough ward, Filton following the resignation of David Bell (Con) due to lack of attendance over the past year. The election takes place on Thursday 2nd October 2008.

Gary Prosser has been nominated as Lib Dem candidate. John Kieley (Lib Dem PPC for Filton and Bradley Stoke) said "the by-election in Filton is the home of the Tory PPC and it would be great to score a success on his doorstep. Initial canvassing has been very positive and we have an excellent candidate in Gary Prosser, who would grace any Council chamber at any level."

Gary will be campaigning on a range of issues raised by local residents including youth vandalism in Elm Park, poor road surfaces in Dunkeld Avenue, neglected pavements in Braemar Ave. He will be taking action with the local Police and South Glos Council over the coming weeks.
