NHS Dentist Campaign Taken to the Top4.57.20pm UTC (GMT +0000) Fri 14th Sep 2007
Brighton is bracing itself for the arrival of thousands of Liberal Democrats for the party's annual conference next week. Amongst those attending from our region will be Northavon MP Steve Webb and local campaigner Emma Bone. Emma Bone will be taking her high-profile campaign for an NHS dentist for Bradley Stoke to Brighton to discuss the issue with senior MPs. Emma commented: "Conference offers a great opportunity to raise local issues - such as my recent NHS dentist campaign - at the highest levels in the Lib Dems. "Hundreds of local people have now signed my petition to get more NHS dentists in our area and on Monday morning I hope to speak in a debate where the Liberal Democrats will call for urgent action to enable dentists to take on more NHS work. "It's utterly shameful that a town the size of Bradley Stoke, which has 20,000 residents, doesn't have its own NHS dentist. I am determined to keep up this campaign to get the people of Bradley Stoke and the surrounding area access to the health care to which they are entitled" You can still sign the dentistry petition at www.fabslibdems.org.uk/petitions/
